Important Notes:

1. Difference in Time on Question Paper and Timetable

When the duration on the question paper and the WAEC timetable differs, the duration on the question paper should be followed.

2. Question Papers to be Given Out in Advance of the Dates They Are to be Taken

(1) General Knowledge-In-Art Paper 3

Candidates will receive the question paper for General Knowledge-In-Art 3 two weeks prior to the exam date.

(2) Project Work Papers

Candidates will get question papers for project work in Basketry, Graphic Design, Leatherwork, Ceramics, Sculpture, Picture Making, Textiles, and Jewellery two weeks prior to the examination.

Candidates will be notified of the exact date for the transmission of question papers through their schools.

3. Extra Time for Blind, Deaf, and Dumb Candidates

Candidates who are blind, deaf, or dumb should be given one and a half times the time allotted to other candidates.

It goes without saying that candidates who want to obtain a WAEC certificate (WASSCE) are required to sit for the examination and take at least six different subjects, including:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • A minimum of one Nigerian native language, basically Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba.
  • One science subject, Physics, Chemistry or Biology
  • Literature in English, History or Geography
  • Agricultural Science

After this, the candidate is expected to choose the other three subjects, not among the core subjects listed above.

The West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC) examination is conducted twice a year, from May-June and November-December.

In this post, we’ve given the latest WAEC timetable for the MAY-JUNE exams.

Based on recent stats, for the 2021 WAEC result, a total of 1,274,784 candidates, representing 81.7% of the total number of candidates that sat for the exam, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

What will be the number of students taking the upcoming WAEC examination in Nigeria and across West Africa? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

WAEC Timetable Summary

The WAEC exam is for high school students in West African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, and Sierra Leone, to name a few.

To pass the exam, you must be familiar with the pattern of questions that have been asked in previous years, as well as how the questions are asked and the conditions for passing the exam.

The exam schedule, also known as the WAEC timetable is normally released by the examination body and includes the day and time for each topic.

You can either print the WAEC timetable online or acquire it from your school (if it’s an internal WAEC).
